Zoo Vacation

Every month on the second Tuesday we go to the zoo.  This was the first time I actually took my camera and one of the few days it hadn't been raining in May.  I couldn't get her to sit still until we found the animal statues and then that is all she wanted me to do, "look at me mommy".

Cole was content to just sit in the stroller and have his food close by.  Everyday he is looking more and more like his daddy.  His appetite is just like moms, quite the piggy.  :)

The BIG "30"

I love being 30!  It did help that I had every meal I could want, done by my amazing husband: egg mcmuffin, sushi rolls, and door decorating, oh my!  We ended the day with cake and bowling with a few friends.  

It was so cute to see Norah and Eden cheering on everyone. Norah is on the right in case you were wondering if she suddenly grew to the size of a 5 year old. :)

The fun birthday gift, going to "Wicked" came later, after hearing we won an Intel raffle.  Free birthday gifts are the best!!!  We are hoping to celebrate our 30th birthday years, both Reed's and mine, by going to Boston and doing a roadtrip in fall.  (Still hoping for a cruise though). 

I did enjoy getting my new cookbook, great recipes off the mormon moms website "Our Best Bites".  I have only heard good things about them so I decided to try it.  I am not much of a cook but I sure enjoyed the chicken cordon bleu, the bacon wrapped green beans and the garlic parmesan rolls.

  Who said 30 wasn't fun was dead wrong.  My hips still work, my eyes are only as bad as they were when I was in highschool and I have no desire to slow down.  It is going to be a great decade!!!

The Rainy Life

We have had a LONG rain season, it is the hardest time of the year for us without our vitamin D.  Another reason why I probably haven't done much blogging and have been enjoying the lazy life. Yet, as much as I would love to curl up with a book and eat sushi Norah had lots of energy and we needed to use it up.  Here were some activities that helped us survive the rainy days:

 Norah has rain boots, a couple of them, yet she found it even funner to do it with open shoes and no socks.

We were spring cleaning and were getting rid of this one but she wanted to make sure it worked first.  I came downstairs to find her like this. Yeah, she was stuck and couldn't get back out.

 We brought her outdoor toys inside so she could enjoy them, so the slide has been fun for both her and Cole.

 One day we went to Toys R' Us just to play with their bikes and toys, without having to buy anything.  Norah's favorite thing was the quarter machine. After I told her she needed to have a coin to go on it she would run around asking any stranger if she could have a coin.  :)

I am a fan of Lowe's too, as they have small workshops for kids.  My husband has to love me, as it is the perfect place for a family.  He gets enough time to drool over the tools, I get to help Norah with the toy and get ideas for house projects.  Overall it could become expensive and can be tempting, but so far so good.

 Lately Norah and I have been trying to be more girly, at least in her case.  And as she always looks cute I made a messy twist with her fidgeting and it ended up really cute, especially with her jean outfit.  The cheasy grin makes it even funner.

 I also tried to crochet a hat for her.  The hat turned out great but now I am bribing my kid to wear it.  She hates things in her hair, it stops her from being able to twirl her fingers in it when she is tired.  I can already tell she is going to complain to me, when she is older, about all the crazy hair pictures she has.  It won't be because I didn't try!!!

 My favorite part was the two purple flowers attached to the bottom left, although you can't see it well.  I would have loved to tried another color, but only had the one color yarn.  Maybe next one.

I had to throw this picture in.  Norah's Nook is where Norah likes to take her nap and doing her reading time.  We made it funner by putting a slide in front of it and now she is up there all the time.  She will love it even more once Cole is able to walk.  Too cute!

The Cutest Missionary

 We finally got to try out Cole's 12 month old suit, and he is only 6 months :)  We couldn't help but add the name tag, as that is what he looked like,  a little missionary.  My favorite was the nice spot where he spit up, where the tag should have gone.  

Just wanted to send out another picture of how grown up Cole is already.  He holds himself up well, which is pretty impressive while holding up that adorable large head (he is in the 99th  percentile for his head size).  Too bad he is always stuck with a pink pacifier, that doesn't help his boyish image.  Doesn't matter as he is cute anyway.  Our little "Big Budda"!!!

 Had to be the cutest thing, seeing both my kids crashed on grandma after we got back from the theater.  Grandma's are the best people to cuddle with.

 Cole's looked the best in the Santa Hat, the best kind of Santa baby, round and adorable.

 Got to make Gingerbread Houses with some friends, even if Norah ate the candy instead of wanting to decorate the house itself.

 We spent two weeks in Illinois and while there Norah spent most of her time with her cousins, Ester and Eden.  Sliding down the stairs provided plenty of entertainment.  It was hard to get them to actually sit still.

 We only had a few hours in Chicago before we had to fly out, so we stopped by Millenial Park.  With as cold as it was, The "Bean", as I call it, and the Macey's window displays were the only things we could see.

Indoor Snowball Fight

As we haven't been able to enjoy snow this year we decided to take matters into our own hands.  I found 8 white balls from the dollar store and tucked them in a snowman box for Family Home Evening.  As soon as we were ready I put the box in the middle of the room and we all grabbed what we could before ducking for cover.
  The snowballs came from all directions and went on for 15 minutes, quite the calorie burner :) Daddy and Norah ganged up on Cole and I.  The best part was not having to get layered with coats, wet, or bruises from how hard dad throws snowballs.
