Look at this picture, what do you see? Some say, a cute innocent artist, others wonder what was mother thinking giving Norah a spoon and bowl full of applesauce, without containing her to her highchair To the latter I'll answer, I don't know.
I allow Norah a lot of room to be independent, realizing the consequence will usually be cleaning, fixing, bandaging, etc. I understand that comes with motherhood, but there are times you must laugh at how kids think the way they do. For example, where did Norah find the paintbrushes? What made her decide to paint on the floor, when the table is the usual crime scene?
As a punishment, which actually became a fun activity for her, we put on our scrubs and got to work cleaning the house, top to bottom. Her favorite part was the bandana and dancing while mom cleaned, figures.
And what did I learn from this? Nothing! I still give her food and drinks and she still likes to make her art. I wouldn't have it any other way :)

What a wonderful mother! Childhood is all about exploring. Thanks for giving her the chance.
(We need another close-up picture to see how she has changed.)
Mom/Nola
I love it! It is crazy what they get into. I have to take a lesson from you in not being so uptight I don't let Esther have a chance to explore. Hope you are feeling well!
