With the millions of dollars still remaining in our possession, after graduation, we decided to forego our adventures to europe and enjoy exotic California. I pride myself on cheap yet spontaneous trips whenever I can, so this trip was only $140 per person. This included gas, In&Outs, Disneyland, Biking across the Golden Gate bridge, Angel's Baseball game, shopping, and the beach. We left "markers", little plastic firemen I had, at any place we enjoyed (maybe many years from now we will go back and see if they are still there).
We managed to stay at some of my parent's friends' houses throughout the week. The Kemptons and Ricks were the best. We even got to enjoy the Kempton's tradition of pizza Tuesday and Donut Wednesday...I suggested steak Saturday or sundae Sundays when we come to visit next time :)
My favorite part was San Fransisco. We rented bikes to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge and eat a picnic at a site looking out to Alcatraz. After spooking ourselves from stories we made up about that place and it's past criminals we headed back to enjoy clam chowder soup bowls on Pier 39. Pier 39 was full of shops and items Alicia and I played with but were too expensive to buy. Yet, we did give in to buying matching green kid hats that fit us perfectly, Reed loves it when I wear that hat :) Those hats became a theme through the entire trip and we wore them almost everyday.
If you ever go to San Fran you must go down Lombard St. This was the steepest and windiest road I know. Alicia and I waited til no one was going down it before I made her pop her head out the sunroof and record it on her camera. By the time we hit bottom we had to go back and do it again, so I could have my head out the sunroof. We did that three times.
DisneyLand was great, as expected. Must sees are Tower of Terror, I almost got sick, Soaring over California, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, we did that twice, and space mountain. I NEVER GOT SICK TOO.
We ended with the angels game. Sadly they lost by one point to the Orioles but still shot off fireworks that night, as they do every friday. We wore Angel's hats and couldn't go without buying a hotdog for $4.00. I'll think twice before buying food at sport games again. If I am lucky next time I will have saved up enough money to get me a foam finger.
California was wonderful. We are thinking of the East Coast in the future...anyone's invited.

Wow! You did all that on $140? Chantel, I'm IMPRESSED! You must share with me your savvy traveling skills!
I'm so impressed with your budgeting skills! Also guess what, I believe Lombard street IS the windiest street in the US (officially). It's really fun to look at on a map. Glad you had such fun!
