Reed has finally convinced me to move to Oregon, so this Monday we took our big adventure. For all those who have played the "Oregon Trail", you will know how fun the trail is, no one got typhoid, Matty didn't break a leg and I got 2,000lbs of buffalo meat to take with us while we were out hunting.
In reality, we had to take I-84. Although the road is boring we decided to jazz it up by checking out the Shoshone Falls along the way. Who would have thought there would be a fire beside it, so we saw firetrucks and planes dropping things off to put the fire out, it was pretty cool. The drive around that area into Twin Falls was quite pretty, we even happened to drive to the 128th temple dedicated recently, it was big but the area around it was quite flat.
We did get lost there and had time trying to get back onto I-84, but I kept tellign Reed we would eventually get back and after the city of Bliss there was the sign, how ironic it was at the time of "bliss".
Reed wanted to help me enjoy the trip, since he drove most of the way, so I bought the fourth book of the twilight series and that was awesome. I read him the first chapter before he said it was okay to read to my self again, I don't know if he will ever be into the girls things we want to have him watch.
We got caught in the worst traffic beffore Boise, two hours moving at 15mph, we even got upto 30mph for a few seconds. So to entertain ourselves we eventually started targeting a red real estate car to see how well we did in comparison to him. Most of the time we beat him and grinned each time we passed, as if we had won a race. We even saw a surburban with teenagers showing a sign for traffic information $1.00, we were tempted.
By 1:30 early the next morning we finished our adventure. I was so tired and Reed had to work the next day, so we both hit the sack, Reed in his HUGE QUEEN doubled mattressed throne and me on the hard floor with my camping mattress and sleeping bag...it was a night to remember.
I have been running around the Hillsboro area in the morning to get a good idea of my new home, looking up random facts about our state (We are the Beaver State, known for our awesome lighthouses biking trails and river rafting, our state insect is the swallowtail butterfly and we have 7 electoral votes to help with our liberal views towards Barrack O'bama. I LOVE OREGON.
