Our little angel took his time getting here, 11 days late to be precise. And as our genes prove to produce big babies the promised boy of "no more than 8 lbs" turned out to be 9lbs 13 oz. Lots of brown hair, quiet and handsome, takes after dad.
Although this baby was bigger I found the birth experience to be so much better. With the help of my midwife, super sweet nurse and awesome coach everything was as I hoped it would be. I started cramping while at church every 8 minutes but not painful enough to change our plans and have some friends stop by for a quick dinner. By 6:30pm I was starting to hit hard cramps every 5 minutes and decided to head to the hospital. We got admitted right away and had time to walk around the hospital practicing our breathing and Reed giving backrubs.
We finally got to our room, turned on some Enya, turned off the lights and tried the pilates ball. Baby's head was facing the opposite way and we needed to turn him. After an hour of getting settled and turning the baby we only had 20 minutes before we pushed Cole out. Can't say it was easy, but it only lasted 4 1/2 hours and I ended up doing it naturally without the complications I had with Norah.
Now we are experiencing a newborn sleep cycle and trying to balance the adorable, yet "terrible two attitude" of Norah. She is loving her baby brother, kissing him all the time. Life is good!
